Timetables

The timetables below set out the scheduled passenger services and the goods paths on the designated routes of the Velocity Interoperability Network. They are published by the Transport Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network and come into force on Monday 7 September 2026, the first working day after the Department's establishment. They remain in force until replaced. Times are given in the 24-hour clock and are the same in each direction of a route unless stated otherwise.

Scheduled passenger services run on Class A trunk routes and Class B regional routes. They are operated by permit holders under contract to the Department and are open to the staff of member organisations, to citizens of the Network and to visitors. Goods paths are timetabled intervals on trunk, regional and service routes during which a permit holder may run a goods movement; they are allocated on application and are described below. No timetable is published for Class D restricted routes, on which movements are arranged directly with the member named on the designating order. The class of every route is recorded in the schedule of routes.

Lengths are measured between the designated ends of each route. Sites counted under one class are not counted again under another, so the twelve sites and facilities served by the network as a whole are fewer than the column total. The length of Class D routes is published in aggregate only.

Passenger services, Monday to Friday. Services depart from each end of the route at the interval shown, from the first departure until the last. Journey times are end to end and include intermediate stops.

Route A1 and Route A3 together account for more than half of all scheduled services, and connect at the Ministry seat so that a passenger may travel between the Treasury and the Health principal site with one change. Passengers changing between routes are allowed at least ten minutes at the Ministry seat under the weekday timetable. Services on Route B2 connect with Route A3 at the Health principal site, and services on Route B1 connect with Route A1 at the Treasury.

Passenger services, Saturdays and Sundays. A reduced service operates on Saturdays. On Sundays, only the two busiest trunk routes run.

Goods paths. A goods path is a timetabled interval during which one goods movement may be run over the full length of a route. The table gives the number of paths in each direction each day, the earliest departure and the latest arrival across all paths on the route, and the days on which paths are available. Route B2 carries no scheduled goods paths; general goods on that route move by arrangement outside passenger hours.

Paths are allocated to holders of a valid transport permit on application by email, for a single movement or for a recurring movement over a stated period. A path that has not been taken up twenty minutes after its scheduled departure is released and may be offered to another holder. Hazardous goods may be carried only in paths marked for them on the allocation, and never on a passenger service. The limits on speed, weight and hours that apply to every movement are set out on the Conditions of traffic page.

Alterations. The Department alters the timetable by notice published in the Newsroom at least fourteen days before the alteration takes effect, except where a route is closed at short notice for safety. Alterations arising from planned works, including retimed goods paths and extended journey times, are listed on the Maintenance and closures page. A member organisation may ask for a service or path to be added, retimed or withdrawn by writing to contact@transport.gov.vin; the Department consults the other members served by the route before deciding.
